Alison was raised in a home surrounded by music of all genres but is heavily influenced by Christian music, classical, jazz and close harmony groups.

With ecclectic taste in music, her influences are David Phelps, Yolanda Adams, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Sandi Patty, Doris Day and Peggy Lee to name a few.

 

With a theatrical nature built in, it was no wonder Alison ventured into the world of musicals but she is happiest when she is just standing in front of an orchestra singing: no wigs, no character to hide behind, just a microphone, a dark room, a spotlight and a team of talented musicians.

A wise teacher said to Ali, "You don't have to better than anyone else. Just be magnificent. Offer up the gift of your voice and it's up to the audience if they want to receive it."
